The magnet programs application will be available on the Wake County School's website in February. Families may submit their magnet application ANYTIME during the magnet application period. Any rising 6th or 8th grader who wants to continue at a magnet middle or high school must submit an application to continue at the next level. Letters of notification will be sent to families mid-March.

The highest priority in the selection process is given to rising 6th and 8th grade magnet students who are following their program pathway. Base students who have been attending their magnet school for 3 years and are following their pathway also have priority in the selection process. priority is not linked to time/date of application.
