The Paideia approach to education is based on the principle that all children can learn and that schools should prepare students to become lifelong learners. School is student centered, which means that ultimately it, nurtures the self-reliance of the individual student by developing his or her own sense of responsibility.
As a Paideia Learning Community we hold these essential elements:
-
School nurtures involvement in governance, both individually and a member of a group.
-
School is such that administrators and teachers model lifelong learning.
-
School is the center of a learning community that extends beyond the school building.
-
School cares about the intellectual development of both students and adults.
-
School expects all students to learn and succeed.
-
When developing curriculum units, Moore Square teachers utilize the three components of Paideia to engage students in learning.
