We would like to thank all of you who joined us last night for our PTSA meeting and Global Fair. The night was filled with great entertainment, fun games, good information, and exotic pets. Everyone seemed to have fun and it was obvious once again that we have some of the most talented students in this school district! Our Extend 2 testing is next week. End of grade and end of course tests will begin a week from next Monday! Next week the entire school will focus on test taking strategies. Teachers have been sending home review materials that will prepare your student for their tests. Please make sure that your student is making the most of these materials. It will definitely help them on all of their EOGs and EOCs! The PTSA is asking for cereal bar donations so that we can ensure all of our students have had breakfast before taking their end of grade tests. Please bring all cereal bar donations to the front office. There will be several other year-end activities that we will be announcing very soon, including information about field day, awards ceremonies, 8th grade Moving Up ceremony, and PTSA-sponsored events. Please stay tuned! We hope you have an enjoyable weekend!

We still have a real need for proctors for May 13, 14, and 15 for End of Grade testing and, if possible, May 6, 7, and 8 for the NC Extend 2 test. If you are available and have passed through the volunteer background check, please contact Ms. Tulis at 664.5760 to let her know of the days in which you can help. We also need #2 pencils, AAA batteries for our calculators, tissue, and blank computer paper. Donations should be brought in to the main office. Join us this coming Thursday, from 6pm to 8pm, for our first ever Global Fair! A lot of fun activities and showcases have been planned, including a talent show featuring several of our students and international displays. It is going to be a memorable and action-packed night! We look forward to seeing you there! This is a reminder that we do have a few policies governing student arrival and dismissal. Between 7am and 7:30am, please make sure you drop your students off along the school-side of Davie Street. Our SRO, Deputy Belfield, generally parks near our entrance to remind parents of this policy. Also, when using the Davie Street carpool line, please try to be safe and use courtesy and not jump other cars. Additionally, if you need to pick your student up early from school please do so before 2:00pm. If you need to pick your student up after 2pm and you know you are running late, please call ahead to alert the receptionist or the data manager. We have this policy in place to minimize the amount of disruptions into our classrooms and to ensure our parking lot is clear for our special transportation vehicles. End of grade and end of course tests are coming up very soon! Teachers have been sending home review materials that will prepare your student for these tests. Please make sure that your student is making the most of these materials. It will definitely help them on all of their EOGs and EOCs! We hope you have an enjoyable weekend!
